Friday News

Flood waters in Bolivia,
Tens of thousands of animals at risk,
Won’t you help?

Trump denies,
Sends troops to defend the wall,
Dashes DACA; trade war with China.
I can’t help.

Help! I scour the morning news
for some small piece of humanity
to temper news aggression.

Last sip of coffee, find Spring Blooms
– an Orchid show in the Bronx –
and gingerly pick carnivorous flowers,
as my weekend escape to joy.
