Cold Fusion

180 million years
later were the first suns
lit in cold hydrogen and
dark matter cloaked
in the shadows
of a universe

a hint of radio
from the beginning
a broadcast impression
hydrogen’s brief imago
fluttering to an end

the stuff of stars
stuff of our skin and bone
and half the unknown
universe driven back
to deeper
