The Naked Truth

That the Mona Lisa’s smile
hid a secret, we knew all along
and now a recent discovery
has proved that we weren’t wrong.

A sketch has been found
with her face full of mirth
and her body reflecting
the nakedness of birth.

She is amused by the thought
she had posed in the nude
as she wanted to show
that she wasn’t a prude.

But the Art of Leonardo
she also knew was imbued
with a sense of propriety
and not meant to be rude.

So she told the master
that in all honesty
she‘d rather be covered
and recover her modesty.
