'Are the robots about to rise?'

The geek’s in his sixties but
slathered in moisturiser,
pumped full of vitamins.
Why should he die? Improved
technology will deliver him
immortality.  Machines are
clever. They talk already.
Soon they’ll like art, reproduce
emotion, crack jokes. The geek
thinks only good will come of this.

His computers read Shakespeare,
Greek tragedy. Their circuits flash.
They highlight words like hubris.
Irony.  They learn from experience.
Bookmark Alien and Terminator
for future reference.
