The Ukraine

Lenin falls again,
still unfeeling,
a heart of stone,
or steel,
as Stalin would say,
people repulsed,
freedom much more than a word on a page,
felt and understood in the soul,
not to be captured in theory,
or corralled in ideology,
a fire raging within,
contained,
but only for a moment.

Protests in Ukraine
